Daddy’s Shoulders

One evening at church, I noticed something simple, yet endearing. Church was crowded and people were standing everywhere. Hands were raised and tears rolled down the cheeks of many as they worshiped. In the midst of it all, I noticed a little boy overwhelmed. It was too much for him. Too many people. Too much noise.

He reached up and beckoned for his daddy to pick him up. Without hesitation, his father obliged. Being the awesome and loving father this man is, he picked his son up and placed him on His shoulders. Effortlessly, the son sat on the shoulders of his father…of his daddy. And effortlessly, his father held him there.

It’s good to know that in the midst of the ruckus…in the midst of the commotion…Abba is willing and waiting to pick you up and effortlessly place you on His shoulders. He’s a Good Dad.

Daddy’s Shoulders

Come and sit on my shoulders.

Come and be seated high above the crowd…

in safety and in protection.

Come and sit on my shoulders.

Don’t worry.

Don’t worry about the height because I’ve got you.

My arms are strong enough.

I’ll never let you go.

Come and be seated high above the chaos.

Come and be seated high above the noise.

Look and see!

Know that I have you.

Come and sit on my shoulders.

Be at peace as we walk through the valley of darkness,

bursting through with light.

I’ve got you.

There’s no fear.

Come and sit on my shoulders,

for Daddy’s got you.
